Pelican Bay – Naples, FL – This Chicago born and raised gal had many reasons for moving to Pelican Bay. The main reason my husband and I chose Pelican Bay was because of its easy beach access and the restaurant facilities on the beach. I will say the main reason we chose to move to Naples 18 years ago was because of the weather. I thought of this today, December 5, 2013 when I saw this weather report for Naples:

While I miss my family and friends AND certain Chicago restaurants, I will never miss Chicago’s weather! Driving on ice-covered streets, climbing up snow-covered stairs to show houses and taking my gloves off to get to a lockbox are other things I don’t miss. Chicago is a beautiful city but the weather there leaves something to be desired for me. As I type this article, I have all the windows in the house open and the sun is shining. Even after 18 years here in Pelican Bay I still have a hard time thinking it’s December!
